Kogarah Bed Race and Street Fair

The annual Kogarah Bed Race and Street Fair is held in August. The Street Fair is is located in Belgrave Street (left) and features the Bed Race as its biggest event of the day in adjoining Railway Parade (right), Kogarah's main street. Teams race on hospital beds driven by local businesses with all proceeds of the race going to the St George Hospital. Most beds are decorated with the colours or insignias of the sponsoring business and the contestants usually dress up too.
