Rockdale Bicentennial Park

A little blue bridge provides a walkway over the pond in Rockdale Bicentennial Park, which attracts many ducks.
This recreation area was renamed in 1988 to celebrate Australia's bicentennial of European settlement.

Rockdale, fire station

Rockdale Fire Station was built in 1938, in the art deco style. It replaced the fire station on the corner of Princes Highway and Bay Street established in 1897. This fire station closed in July 2006 when the Rockdale Fire Brigade moved to the new Arncliffe Fire Station.

Fairview (left) and Belmont (right) are both located on the same block of Wollongong Road. The street behind these houses is called Fairview Street, named after this estate. Athelstane was another home built in the same style and era. That home was unfortunately demolished and the estate was used to house Athelstane Public School. Athelstane Avenue was also named after that estate.

Arncliffe fire station


Arncliffe Fire Station, located on West Botany Street close to the Wickham Street intersection, was built in 2006. It replaced Rockdale Fire Station, built in 1938, which itself replaced the original Arncliffe Fire Station on the corner of Forest Road and Farrar Street, built in 1909.
