Beverly Hills, King Georges Road

Beverly Hills was originally known as Dumbleton but the name was disliked by residents and was changed in 1931, at a time when Beverly Hills in California was being associated with famous movie stars. This view is of the King Georges Road, looking south-east towards Hurstville.

Kingsgrove shops




Kingsgrove shopping centre is located south of the railway station, along Kingsgrove Road. The area developed after the railway line went through in the 1930s and features a number of art deco buidings.

Museum railway station, Mark Foys entrance




This entrance to Museum Railway station is located outside the Downing Centre in Castlereagh Street. The Downing centre was once the site of Mark Foys department store and the name has been retained on the tiled wall of the pedestrian subway to the station.

Rockdale Town Hall

Rockdale Town Hall is located on the Princes Highway, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. The local government area was originally known as the West Botany Municipality, declared on the 13th January 1871. It became The Municipality of Rockdale in 1884, when the suburb name also changed. It was was declared a city in 1995, and is now known as the City of Rockdale.

Bexley, Bethany College

Bethany College is located on the corner of Forest Road and Croydon Road in the southern suburb of Bexley. Bethany College was formed in 1993 by the amalgamation of St Mary's Star of the Sea High School here at Bexley and St Joseph's Girls High School at Kogarah.
